ABOUT
My name is Tara Morgan and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist currently supervised by Stacy-Colleen Nameth LCSW#20894. I am an empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental clinician working with adults, couples and adolescent clients struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, self-esteem issues, communication difficulties, parenting, women’s health and life transitions. I have a specialization in trauma and am trained in EMDR,
helping clients process the cause and effects of cultural, historical, military, family and immigration trauma.
I look at each client I work with as an individual and utilize a variety of modalities that are tailored to best suit their specific needs. I work from a Humanistic orientation which is client centered and focuses on honesty, trust and vulnerability to aid in developing a strong therapeutic rapport between clinician and client. Other modalities I use in treatment are Experiential, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness.
I received my master’s degree in Marriage Family Therapy with a specialization in Trauma from Pacific Oaks College, studying trauma as it pertains to a wide demographic and more importantly how to help clients start their healing process. I previously worked at a woman’s residential treatment facility specializing in addiction, cross-addiction and dual diagnosis disorders. I have an extensive working knowledge of various 12 Step Programs for the individual and the family; AA, Al-Anon, Parent Al-Anon, ACA, and CoDA.

PERSONAL INFO
I am a mother, partner, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and animal lover. I am a native Californian and moved to Los Angeles in 1991. I have had my fair share of life challenges and to be honest it has not always been easy to walk through, nor have I been graceful while doing it. I have worked in a variety of different fields and have spent a substantial amount of time in fashion, the entertainment industry, as a stay at home mom, and working within the therapeutic community. Transitions, life changes, and re-discovering myself have been a huge part of my journey. I look forward to holding space for you as you go through your life journey.
